Come to Fellowship Coffee after church on Sunday, June 2, to learn about the ideas the Coffeehouse Ministry Committee has been brewing up! We’ve been meeting regularly for the past two months to gather research, share ideas, and even take a field trip or two, and now we’re excited to share what we’ve learned with the congregation regarding ministries such as:
- Lifetree Cafe – Lifetree Cafe ministry is an hour of stories and conversation to feed your soul, using video, questions, and personal stories to guide people in an exploration of life and faith. It’s particularly geared toward people who may have grown up in a church or had previous church experiences, but who, for various reasons, are no longer engaged in a faith community. The Coffeehouse Ministry Committee recently traveled to West Des Moines United Methodist Church to experience their “Lifetree Cafe” in action.
- Coffee House Arts – an array of ministries in music, visual and performing arts.
- Welcoming space for community groups – a place to welcome new or existing groups such as ESL students, Al-Anon and others.
- Flexible space for formal and informal events – a flexible and welcoming environment that can host Board meetings, celebrations, events of the congregation, men’s and women’s fellowship group, FCC Writer’s Group and other special events.
A presentation will be given on June 2 in “science fair” style where you’ll be invited to enjoy coffee and music and explore different stations of our “research”.
